The March Hare was unloved and derelict before John and Janice bought the pub and turned it into a freehouse. Now they have managed to turn it round with the help of the local community, which has supported it well.It is not a gastro pub or restaurant, but is a traditional community pub,
John and Janice are about keeping tradition going and so run a traditional freehouse. There is no juke box, just background music because coming to the March Hare is about people getting together. The March Hare is the place where people can meet, enjoy themselves and get to know each other better and pop in for a real ale or just to read the newspapers.
They offer a wide range of ever changing beers, over 600 different beers to date. This has meant that a try before you buy policy on all real ales is a must at the March Hare.
John delights in encouraging his customers to try different styles of real ale and cider. You can rest assured that John keeps his beers in perfect condition and will return to the brewery any beer that does not meet his high standards Try before you buy has always been John’s motto
Janice prepares the food for the themed food nights using her culinary skills and takes into consideration her regular customers’ likes and dislikes. Janice cooks dishes that you may cook at home but may not have the time, using natural ingredients, not packet mixes.
Patrons of all ages are welcome to come in and read the newspapers or play games provided by the March Hare.
